How to deal with slanted table for foosball?

d s asked:
n my workplace we have a foosball table but it's got an extreme tilt such that the ball it's very hard for me to stop the ball to do push/pull shots. I would catch it (full stop) but when I try to put my 3 bar in position the ball moves out and hits the far wall. It seems that the only way to play it (which I don't want to) is speedball where everyone is just mashing the ball as fast as they can. Any suggestions?

I've managed to completely stop the ball and move my 3-man into position usually once out of every 6 catches. I can't fix the table legs, because people keep moving it around. How can I cope with the slant?
